Mia Kirshner & Marla Sokoloff

Mia Kirshner
Mia Kirshner

Canadian actress Mia Kirshner was born in 1976 in Toronto, Canada. She broke into film in 1993, when she starred as a bad seed teenager intent on seducing her mother's boyfriend in Cadillac Girls and played Benita, a dominatrix, in Love and Human Remains.

Mia had another career breakthrough the following year with a turn as a stripper hiding a dark secret in the widely acclaimed Exotica. The actress' work attracted the notice of American casting agents, who promptly cast her in supporting roles in Murder in the First and The Grass Harp, both in 1995. She subsequently won lead roles in The Crow: City of Angels (1996) and Mad City (1997), which cast her as an intern.

However, Mia has had difficulty making a name for herself in Hollywood. She continues to appear in both lead and supporting roles in such independent and/or small features as Saturn, Cowboys and Angels, Century Hotel, and Party Monster. Keeping busy well into the new millennium, Kirshner would later appear in the real-time television series 24, as well as Not Another Teen Movie. Currently, she is filming a movie called The Sky is Green, with Vince Vaughn and Steve Buscemi.
